H&M has officially released the lookbook for their next designer collaboration with Versace and it has left me underwhelmed. To be honest, I didn’t have very high hopes and never found Versace to be at all that appealing but I did have some interest. What do you guys think? The problem that I have with H&M’s yearly designer collaboration is that they always follow the same format and use the same silhouettes, especially for guys. A few blazers with coordinating dress slacks, a leather jacket, a few pairs of dress shoes and some boxer briefs…BORING.
My main problem with this collaboration is their use of color and patterns. Versace for H&M would have been much better saved as a summer collaboration (a la Matthew Williamson). With their use of vibrant accent colors of pink and aqua and tropical island patterns, the whole concept just seems so bizarre to me. H&M should have been more conscious of the season and the practicality of the garments. C’mon H&M, no chunky sweaters, turtlenecks, or wool coats? I’m still kicking myself in the head for missing out on the Viktor and Rolf collaboration…the only collaboration that made sense or even mattered, really.
Luckily for women, the line looks to be very sexy and contains a lot more variety (although not pictured).
Check out the full line below by clicking the link and let me know what you guys think? Hit or Miss?
