Mortal Engine

Absolutely breathtaking.

There has always been something about the art form of dance that I find so striking. Don’t get me wrong, to have the ability to act and sing is truly amazing as well but it is dance, in my opinion, that is the most extraordinary of talents. The idea of your body being this disciplined instrument that is capable of creating beautiful art is really quite impressive.

Here is some information about the performance taken from the video, “Mortal Engine is a intermedia dance performance using movement and sound responsive projections to portray an ever-shifting, shimmering world in which the limits of the human body are an illusion. Produced by well known australian dance company Chunky Move”.

This is definitely one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I would love to had seen this live. The song perfectly used in the video is by Ben Frost and it is called Theory of Machines.

Express Yourself, Don’t Repress Yourself

“What’s wrong with sluts? If sluttiness is what you like, what’s wrong with that? Why do we think being a slut’s bad? Sluttiness is just a lot of freedom”.

Bam! Pow! Plowed!

Beautiful.

Mark Chamberlain is a New York based artist who created a series of homoerotic Batman & Robin watercolor paintings in 2005. His inspiration behind his artwork was a photograph shot by famed photographer Terry Richardson (above) and these paintings were met with a lot of criticism due to their subject matter. DC comic officials immediately made The Kathleen Cullen Fine Arts Gallery remove the paintings from their gallery but thanks to the internet the images can still be found with a simple search.

These paintings are by no means new but I wanted to share them with you all because I think they are terrific and should be seen by everyone. Since I am a huge comic book nerd and grew up watching Batman & Robin regularly, I plan on getting a picture framed for my bedroom. I enjoy the sweetness in Batman & Robin’s kiss but I think I am leaning towards the picture of Robin straddling Batman. Too much? What do you guys think?

Check out the paintings below!

New Music: The Drums – Hard To Love

If you’re not familiar with The Drums then you’re going to want to get familiar. They’re definitely one of the more buzz worthy bands being talked about in the last couple of years and worth all the mention. You won’t be disappointed. If you’re a fan of angsty music and into the likes of The Smiths or Joy Division then this should be right up your alley.

Hard to Love is my favorite track from Portamento. Check it out below and pick up a copy of the record.

Let’s Get Sleazy

Sexy! Dirty! Slutty! Trashy! Slick It Up is a raunchy brand that sells men’s underwear, active wear and fetish wear. What I like most about this brand is how fun it is. Slick It Up doesn’t take itself too seriously, as the commercial below shows, and they sell just about everything. Definitely check it out but make sure to have an open mind!

Francois Sagat in a pink candy sling…singing in French!! C’mon, it doesn’t get any better than that! Love that man. This commercial is hilarious. I don’t know about anyone else but the older I get the dirtier my mind gets and Slick It Up has got my heart racing.

Umm how hot is David Chlopecki? YOWZA!!!
